I've just heard that Victor Spinetti's died, which makes me sad, 'cause I was fond of him. Actually my journal title, till last year was 'Get me a bottle of milk and some tranquilisers' from A Hard Day's Night, which I watched only a few days ago. I think Victor Spinetti's just about my favourite thing in that film, which is saying something 'cause there's Beatles in that film, and Wilfred Bramble, and Slartibartfast, and that brilliant scene with Anna Quayle. I saw his one-man stage-show thing a few years ago, and that was quite delightful too. So that's fairly a shame. But quite a life.
