Fandom meme 2010
Your main fandom of the year?
It was a year of Voyager. But I didn't in any sense engage in fandom. I have no active involvement in fandom anymore, mostly because it doesn't exist for the things about which I'm fannish. Or if it does exist it exists wrongly, as in Voyager.
Your favourite film watched this year?
Was My Name is Khan this year? It feels like it was about seventeen decades ago, but I think it might've been January. If so, that. I don't really remember having seen very much else.
Your favourite book read this year?
Oh, woe. I stopped reading about about four months ago, though I was doing well at the beginning of the year: I managed a book a month for the first six months. There's a big part of my brain that feels precisely like Jeremy from Peep Show does about reading. As in, like, it's really, really hard and mostly you end up covering the same paragraph nineteen times. BUT. I read Three Dublin Plays by Sean O'Casey and I thought they were ace, so that.
Your favourite album or song to listen to this year?
I listened to Seems So Long Ago, Nancy quite a lot this year, having forgotten it existed since about 2002.
Your favourite TV show of the year?
Voyager unless you mean something current, in which case The Event and Mythbusters and that BBC 4 programme about the Indian mountain railways, except for the subtitling.
Your favourite LJ community of the year?
I have no involvement with any LJ communities.
Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
Voy. etc.
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
That Voy. etc. fandom likes Chakotay. Moreso, being honest, the train wreck that was the end of Lost and the lack of corresponding noisy fury from its viewers.
Your TV boyfriend of the year?
TUVOK. And Blake Sterling.
Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Seven. And Janeway.
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
I don't know. Precisely nothing springs to mind. PATENTLY it would've been something that happened in Voyager, but I watched it in its entirety this year so it's hard to pick out specific moments. (I did do a bit of squeeing towards the end of The Trip as well.)
The most missed of your old fandoms?
I started missing HIGNFY fandom lots this year, not so much for anything to do with the programme but because it was a reason to meet up with a group of people I pretty much never get to see these days.
The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
All those things you talk about and say 'Watch this' and then I don't and I have no idea what my flist means.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
I'm looking forward to the rest of season 1 of The Event.
