Jack's Compass.

When Norrington takes the compass from Jack in the first film, at what does it point?

Ah. Bless. In a sense. Samantha Lynne. I think 'Samantha', as a name, was made up around 1860. So when is the second generation of pirates? Is that nowish?

In the book I have that tells me about names, it said it was probably invented in the southern states of the US using 'Sam' from Samuel and feminising it with the recently coined 'antha' suffix, possibly suggested by Anthea. Which I think is a vaguely rubbish way to make a name.

She is but a poor deluded child. We can only hope she'll one day get over it. I remember feeling like this after Charlie and the Chocolate Factory came out and I became strangely if briefly involved in its (admittedly quite disturbing) fandom in order to write two fics. I'd never come across so many 12 year old Mary Sues. It was vaguely upsetting.

Oh yes, I think I do remember that one. There was a handful of good stuff, very good stuff some of it, and more dross than I've come across in any other fandom. It was kind of astonishing.

Or who indeed. I should simply have a look on the DVD. First, though, I would have to stand up. I was looking for short cuts.

Devon was hot and bookish and I had to read some poetry and stuff out loud, but it was kind of fun and hurrah.

I just looked and it does seem to be pointing at Jack, but then again it also seems to be pointing North (or very slightly off North), so possibly I'm looking at a thing that isn't the needle.

It does seem to make utter sense for it to point at Jack, though Jack probably wasn't meant to be standing to the north of Norrington.

I thought you were posting this is as some sort of fandom version of a rallying football chant, at first. As in "'OOOOO SCORED THE GOAL? ENG-ER-LA-AAND!". Then I saw you were simply asking for information.

AT 'OOO DOES IT POINT? JACK SPARR-O-OOOW!

DOES IT? I say that with potential joy, not shouting of doom. But when you open it, does that mean North is at the bottom, or was I just reading it stupidly? And why am I talking about the nautical accuracy of the film as though it in any sense matters? When clearly what matters is that James wants Jack?
