Two amusing things that happened yesterday.
While boggling mildly at an otherwise perfectly sensible jumper with a dissected shirt collar sewn into its neck, presumably for people who simply can't handle the notion of wearing one garment over the other, I overheard a small boy of 6 or so asking quite firmly of his father what year it was. He was quite insistent and vaguely perturbed. On acquiring this information, he then demanded the know the precise date. I have little doubt that this boy has recently been partaking in a spot of illicit time travel.
Peter Sissons interviewed a man on BBC News 24. I can't remember what the interview was about, but the man emphatically said that humans were better than robots. The TV then cut to angry slabs of rainbow with illegible code scrawled across it. I'm assuming it was scuppered by an angry robot.

...which is about all the guitar tablature sites' being taken offline, is vexing me somewhat. It's a copyright issue, but the vast majority of these tabs are not actually available for purchase anyway...it's just people listening repeatedly to the tracks and offering the reading public a rough approximation (seldom spot on) of the score. Playing by ear and taking notes. I don't really see how it's different to writing down song lyrics. I've done it for myself in the past before the internet came into my life, because there was no other option, and now apparently I'll have to start doing it again. Well, poo.
That's all.

Much yayity for time travelling boys. And a bit woeness for robots TAKING OVER THE WORLD. Oh dear. But MOST WOE for stupid music people with stupid plans, that is just totally RUBBISH of them, there's no way you shouldn't be allowed to share stuff that you've scribbled down for yourself. I'm surprised there isn't an lj comm with that sort of stuff in, though. And if there is, so long as it's all locked, I'd expect it to carry on much as it is hopefully.

Last year there was nothing but polo-shirts with fake t-shirts beneath them and the like, yes. It was very peculiar. It makes me want to invent shoes with fake bits of sock attached to the top. But that would be silly. Ignoring the white bits is fine. I judge not.

I have seen those too! I mean, I haven't seen the *same* one(s) you were looking at, but I have seen That Sort of Thing at a great big fight-for-the-discounted-clothes shop. I was in a huge rush to find clothes for the new job, and every so often I'd think 'Ooh, lovely argyle sweater in attractive colors--WHY IS THERE PART OF A SHIRT SEWN INTO IT?'
Really, really annoying.

Hurrah! I'm so glad you spotted a time-travelling boy! My new job involves lots of books about time-travelling children (apparently; I tend to lose interest if a child rejects my Beasts of Clawstone Castle or Ellen Tebbits recommendations, so I only have a vague *impression* re: these time-travel books), so I am pleased to know that I can now re-shelf these in the non-fiction section.
Do you think books about time-travelling children should go under 'science' or 'history'?
(Pardon me. I seem to have nothing to say that isn't somehow to do with books. Oof. How are you, please?)

THE CLOTHES ARE SO WRONG. I am shouting more online these days than I used to. But really. If they're going to sew bits of clothes into other clothes, what can they expect?
