Shouting nautical things in boats.
I saw that thing last night and the night before about Griff Rhys Jones, Rory McGrath and Dara O'Briain sailing Griff's yacht from London to Cowes. Three Men in Another Boat. Mostly I think they ought to have gone on a cycling tour of the Black Forest, but there were lots of things to enjoy. Dara's stroking Rory's face. Dara and Rory's holding hands in terror as they walked across the glass floor in the Spinnaker Tower. Dara's calling Griff 'Daddy'. But mostly Griff's shouting nautical things during the bizarrely thrilling yacht race. Griff became dementedly excited and competitive and so he shouted things like 'tack' and 'furl' and 'starboard' very hoarsely and, you know, shoutily. I love people shouting nautical things on boats more than I love about seventy-three other things. The best person in the world at it is Paul McGann in Hornblower. I love when they're firing the hot shot and Bush and Hornblower take it in turns to say 'Please may I have a go at the shouting now?' and the other one says 'Certainly', and then they do. And Bush shouts in a clipped and beautiful way and it sounds a bit like another language. And they wear very pretty shirts. It's triffic really.

I am sorry about your innards.

I'm going to make a cake tomorrow. Cake is good for innards. In some sense or other.

Yes, totally, it was great that Griff TRIED to do shouting, but pah. No one on a boat could ever really live up to Bush's shouting. It is totally one of the best things about all of television.
