At last! Paul Merton.

At last! Paul Merton on Whose Line Is It Anyway?. And two people I've never heard of. It took long enough.

(Who are Jim and Steve?)

I'm not watching it, but if one is tall and baldy and the other is curly haired they are a 'comedy duo' = who were in the Carling Black label adverts in the past.. they did the 'Damnbusters' ad, and .. others that I can't remember.

They transpire to be Jim Sweeney and Steve Steen, and I've only ever encountered them before as Bryon and Coleridge in Blackadder the Third. I'm think aside from Whose Line they haven't done much telly and possibly they're stage improvisers primarily. They're very good, I think.

except I might be wrong... one of those appears to be called Mark. Steve Frost and Jim Sweeney perhaps.

I am very much aware that you made a 'throw away' remark at the end of your post and that I have reacted in a borderline ocd way. I can't help this and even as I'm telling myself not to post this I keep on typing.

Je regret.. or something.

Especially Je regrette when you have already answered and I am plugging on like a loon

Ah, right, no. Not Steve Frost. I know who he is. Steve Steen. Jim Sweeney's right though, and apparently they are a writing duo. Or improv duo. Or one of those things.

Was it just Paul Merton you were waiting for or have you been holding out for the special combination of Paul Merton and two people you've never heard of? You have strange requirements from old television. Also you have never heard of Jim and Steve, this is WEIRD.

It was really just Paul Merton I wanted. And Tony Slattery was with him, so that all worked very well. There was a tiny bit of face-touching. Now I'm waiting for the single episode with Julian Clary. Good.

I didn't know who Jim and Steve were, no. They've never been on HIGNFY and I learn most of my comedians from that. I liked them.

Jim and Steve are Paul's proper improv pals! They do the Comedy Store Players with him. I particularly like Jim.

Yay! Yes, I've been reading about them a bit now. I also thought Jim was especially pleasing too. Good.
