It's mostly about being chilly.
Dec. 11th, 2008 07:36 pmI'm going to the cinema tomorrow. I bet you can't guess what I'm going to see.
The internet's back on a semi-regular basis, providing it isn't the morning, on one computer only. Sadly it's the computer with no sound and in the room where the radiator's blocked by a sofa-bed. I don't really feel I can commit to it.
Mostly I've been spending my time being cold. I spent all of yesterday being cold and forgot to do anything else. It really does take up all your time. I used to be fairly all-rightish at winters, then I spent nine weeks in India skipping meals and walking up mountains and lost a stone and a half. That made me environmentally unsound. Unlagged in essence. And I found I didn't like the cold anymore. Actually I've regained the bulk of the weight in the intervening nearly-five years, but I'm still pretty crap at the cold. This afternoon I was wearing a vest and a t-shirt and a woolly thing and a dressing gown and I still didn't want to stray very far from the fire. In bed, I can only gain any benefit from my hot-water bottle by placing it under my knees. The rest of me's too layered to register the heat. To be fair, my room has no radiator. I still feel fairly feeble. I might take up brandy.
