My First Quilling.

QuilledFlower

It's quite easy! Occasionally a quilled box or some such thing turns up on, um, Bargain Hunt, and I thought I might like to try it for Naarmamo, so today I snipped the end off the eye of a darning needle with pliers and stabbed it into the rubber end of a pencil to make a homemade quilling tool. Then I fed a load of black card into a shredder, and voila. A flower and a bee. I might get some coloured card later and try some quilling with that, though I quite like the monochrome effect as well.

Sykes

I didn't know Eric Sykes looked so much like the lovechild of Leonard Cohen and Woody Allen till today. This is Eric Sykes, who died last month.

Here endeth Naarmamo 2011 and my opportunity to communicate to the outside world purely through the media of pencils and origami and photography and Harmony.

This morning I realised I hadn't drawn Shah Rukh Khan at all this year, which is a vile omission, so here he is. He is very happy that I have successfully completed Naarmamo 2011. He cares deeply about my every endeavour. YES HE DOES.

Will Hay in headmasterly garb ('cause I like drawing glasses). The scanner did some funny things to my shading - the mortar board looks solid black on the page but not at all on the screen - but nothing too egregious.

I had every intention of doing a portrait today, but I decided I wanted to find another way to render the windfarm 'angel' of a couple of days ago, so I went back to Harmony, discovered you can change the colour of the background (how exciting) and came up with this. Which I now find mildly spooky. (Portrait tomorrow, hopefully.)

A study in texture. The texture of Peat and Wall. (I should have time to draw again tomorrow! Huzzah.)

Just a couple of experimental sketches again. This is one of yesterday's pigeons done in pencil

Quite enjoyed being scribbly. I'd like to try it with oils or acrylics, but I don't have any at the moment. And this next is a wind turbine with wings:

This is basically just an image that interests me, though I'm not sure how best to render it. Tried Harmony but it was a bit of a mess. I might develop this further though at some stage. Deadline's over tomorrow (should make it!), so I'll be able to devote more time to naarting.

More avian Harmony-based experiments. These are basically pigeons.
