Well, peel my tangerines.
Dec. 20th, 2008 08:16 pmI made a meringue roulade today and Blackadder's Christmas Carol's on the telly. These are the good things. I love Jim Broadbent's Albert. He is from Glaaas-gow. And Miriam Margoyles' Queen Victoria is second only to Ronnie Corbett's.
'It come through the wall ... it said its piece ... and then it sodded off.' I love Baldrick.
We're mid-Strictly Come Dancing at present. I have little in the way of comment. I've enjoyed it intermittently but it gives me a sense of shallowly-seated guilt. To be fair, everything does that. It's too much responsibility for a person of twenty-eight. I don't actually vote for Strictly. I'm just saying. It was lovely seeing Cherie and Don again though. I don't understand why Cherie and Don aren't in the final. I understand why Don isn't in the final, on reflection, because he didn't dance as well as some other people (only fifty percent of the point) and the public didn't love him (the properly inexplicable other fifty percent), but I really don't understand why Cherie didn't make it. She was ace. I want her to win. Her or Julian Clary.
