In other news, Art Garfunkel's voice has disappeared. Woe. Paul Simon must be quietly thrilled SORRY THAT WAS MEAN. Look at this though, from a review of a recent concert in New Orleans, during which Simon had to carry the vocals:
After returning to the stage, Garfunkel's voice deteriorated quickly, missing harmonies in "My Little Town" and his signature high notes in "Bridge Over Troubled Water," a song that was resonant in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Still, his game effort at the final notes brought cheers from the crowd and a laughing smile and a hug from Simon — one of the few displays of affection between the duo onstage.
OH. I mean, hurrah for affection and everything. It's just that, you know. Personally I think it's a symptom of Paul Simon's underlying joy at his beloved nemesis' being rendered temporarily powerless. I'M SO SORRY I DON'T KNOW WHY I SAY THESE THINGS. (It is though.)
