Eeeee.
Planet Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan Wants Suri Of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi As The New Romantic Icon
So do I.
Planet Bollywood wrote a fairly incisive review of that film. Basically it said that all the bits with Surinder in were great and all the bits with Raj in were pointless. It wasn't, as it turned out, the best film ever made, but it had the makings of the best film ever made therein, namely a film with Shah Rukh Khan playing a man with glasses and a moustache. What was missing was more of the same and the confidence that Surinder could carry the film all by himself. I'm fairly excited that SRK's being allowed to play this sort of a role now though. I hope he plays it forever, like he did Rahul.
When I bought my ticket yesterday for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, the man asked me if I knew it was a Bollywood film. It was a sort of a warning. I scoffed a bit. I did pronounce the title correctly. I think if you do that they could probably assume you know the film's in Hindi. Anyway, why warn? Imagine going to see a film that you thought didn't have a singing dancing Shah Rukh Khan therein and finding that it did. That'd make my year.
