I had an excitingly random collection of articles for my tea today. I had a heap of beans, a modicum of lettuce and a splurge of tinned mackerel in tomato sauce. And three small carrots. And a banana and a mug of hot chocolate. I was trying to entertain a certain amount of healthful goodness on realising that I'd consumed nary a one of my regulation five portions of fruit and/or vegetables a day and had instead been fuelled entirely by the power of oats. Porridge for a breakfast and an absurdly large flapjack for lunch. That's really no way to be carrying on. Also my mother has bought three large bucketfuls of calories in the shape of chocolatey goodness. I am treating this as a test of my resolve. I want chocolate.
Most amusing thing I saw last week: a heron standing in the goal on a deserted football field, swaying gently from side to side.
