For an hour now I have been puzzling in stunned and stony silence.

Why would my mother, on a first meeting with a proper grown-up friend of mine, see fit to mention that I was once in my distant youth an owner of My Little Ponies? I see no reason why my mother, who claims to be fond of me, would do something so calculatedly cruel and shaming, that could bring nothing in the way of happiness to me personally and is, in fact, the sort of action that a bod will remember each and every time they come to introduce new friends to their mother.

SHE WILL MEET VERY FEW OF MY FRIENDS IF SHE CARRIES ON LIKE THIS.

Perhaps she thinks the fact that my friend and I had spent the past ten minutes discussing Transformers (Robots in Disguise) somehow made for a natural and unembarrassing segue into My Little Ponies. It did not. Being the sort of girl child who enjoyed the odd foray into the world of Transfomers, and can still discuss them quite knowledgably with men in their early twenties, has never been anything other than a status symbol. My Little Ponies are really just the end.

My only hope is to tell him that he doesn't know what I used to do with the My Little Ponies. Because my My Little Ponies were actually fitted with machine guns and were really quite psychopathic.

My mother only slightly acquitted herself by remembering that the transforming Autobot city toy was called Metroplex.

Forgiveness is still some way around the corner.

I keep nearly buying them in our local cut price shop. Along with Barbies. There was one painted blue with a glitter modesty panel on her boobular lumps!

Did transformers come with a gymkhana set? No! Everyone always thinks boys' toys were cooler. Anyone who can appreciate transformers should be able to similarly like mlps or they are not true connisseurs. I think I've forgotten how to spell that.

Transformers were rubbish at accessories. You are quite correct. One of my MLPs had leg-warmers. Show me the transformer with leg-warmers....

We are like a MLP lovers support group.

And I'm totally enamoured with the term 'boobular lumps'.

I wrote breasts initially, and then realised that they're not breasts at all, as there are no nipples or any real breast like attributes.

Leg warmers! Aw. I think mine had a little dress and some shoes. I also had a small one with wings that flapped when you pressed a button.
