My hands feel a little bit dead. There's not a lot I can do with them. If I try and moisturise them they develop a fierce itchy rash that rather hurts. And if I don't they continue to feel deceased. I'm not far from attempting the one cure that really seemed to make a difference when I tried it some years ago, which is the application of a stiff wire brush. I can't deny it isn't rather painful and probably not entirely healthsome, but it feels mostly like starting afresh. With brand new and unnaturally pinkish hands. Or I might seal myself into a pair of non-woollen gloves. Wool adheres. It's like having old dead tree stumps on the ends of your arms.

My brother bought me a chocolate croissant today, which was very nice of him but it wasn't in the plan in any sense whatsoever. I'm supposed to be eating vegetables and pulses and possibly the occasional oat. Not nice things.

I'm going to write about second-person POV songs quite soon. Eventually. Hopefully. One day.

I think January's kind of rubbish when you're not in Rajasthan. I've been thinking that since January 2005.

I realise it is entirely nothing to do with me and you didn't instigate a vote or anything but I VOTE AGAINST WIRE BRUSHING YOUR HANDS, I@M NOT SURE THAT CAN BE GOOD EVEN IF THEY ARE DEAD. But I'm a bit weird about the backs of my hands, so mostly it is a me thing. Maybe. HM.

I love croissant. I do not have this. I think the chocolate croissant bread and butter pudding that marks and spencer advertise to me is the only food they have ever made look really very attractive. I migth buy one just so I stop thinking about it. Well done your brother, obviously.

Wire-brushing my hands does sound like a terrible idea. It did kind of work brilliantly when I did it before. But I think probably I was lucky they didn't fall off or catch a disease or something. I probably won't do it again. Good. They are horrid though.

It was a highly pleasing chocolate croissant, as chocolate croissants are wont to be. I only like the dessert bits on the M&S adverts. Everything else looks a bit poo.
