Dave has series 3 of Whose Line is it Anyway?. It's all I've ever asked out of life. Probably it's not. But it's quite lovely. It's the only one I haven't seen even vaguely and somewhere or the other there's an episode with Paul Merton and Julian Clary in it and I'm a bit scared I might accidentally go outside and not see it. That'd be ghastly.
Oh god. I love how much everyone loves Tony Slattery in the early episodes. The one I saw today was Josie, Greg, Jim and Tony. Jim and Tony. That's terribly pretty. Clive called Tony 'My Little Tony' by accident. It's maybe the best thing anyone ever did. But everyone loves Tony. They smile at him and laugh and just think about how very pretty he is and all that sort of thing. It's great.
On Demand, on the other hand, has series 9 of Whose Line, and I find it faintly sad and depressing. Ryan and Colin are a permanent fixture and Tony's not there and the backdrop's sort of weird and it's all just fairly wrong. I was quite glad when Josie and Stephen Fry turned up together in an episode because it was sort of like the old days. Then Stephen Fry started to answer the Questions round in Latin and I became cross. Then Clive buzzed him out for being too clever and I was happy again. I love Clive. Also I saw an episode with Mike McShane on and he was looking oddly grim and fearsome. That's because he misses Tony. I feel his pain. It's a bit ghastly wondering who's going to appear in which episode but being absolutely sure it shan't be Tony.
Then I showed my brother five minutes of the US version and he said it was wrong in every way. So he can still be my brother.
Richard Vranch is really terribly pretty as well.

I'm glad you get to keep your brother. Because that was QUITE A BIG TEST REALLY. Not that it's easy to pass, just that failing it is a real failing.
CLIVE IS GREAT SO GREAT and Richard Vranch is beautiful and maybe they sometimes are in love and drink hot chocolate. MAYBE.
MY LITTLE TONY! OH GOD.

I found his Myspace page (he's friends with Jim Sweeney ... oh) and he said he didn't like doing Whose Line because music wasn't really his thing and he wanted to do proper improvising with the others. Bless. So there's angst behind the smile.
My Little Tony makes me bounce with glee.

Date: 2008-04-25 02:22 pm (UTC)My Little Tony was divine and made me curl slightly into a ball. It was because Tony was doing authors in the style of My Little Pony and Clive said it back to him as My Little Tony and it seemed to be a genuine mistake, which was slightly great, but he went with it anyway. Oh.
