A child of Runtface (see the whole of the summer 2006 if that makes no sense). My other sunflowers, very much deprived of sun, have yet to come out this year, but this one somehow made it. It's not very tall and half of its face has sort of fallen off, but not the half I photographed.

Oh it's been a sunflowery afternoon!

I was driving to Tesco and saw an allotment with loads of sunflowers popping over the hedge and although I wasn't fully there for 2006, I kinda picked up via Cee all about them, so I saw them and thought of you.

Then they were selling bunches of sunflowers as cut flowers, and now this! Whee!

Yours looks very sun worshippy with his face turned upward. Lovely.

Oh! I love that I have become strangely associated with sunflowers. I raced ten of them during the summer of 2006 and Runtface was the most puny to begin with but grew up to be big and strong, and I nabbed the seeds out of his face and that's one of his offspring. I'm fairly fond of sunflowers.

Thank you! I've either come into possession of a camera that's better at focussing or my hand's a lot steadier than once it was, because all the ones from 2006 are profoundly blurry.
