Araucaria, the fiendish Guardian crossword compiler, is an 87 year old priest. I had no idea.
I'm going to watch the dancing tonight. John Sergeant's doing the tango. I love John Sergeant. And I love Kristina the dancer about the same amount as I love John Sergeant. She's just very sweet with him and a bit brilliant at working out what he has that no-one else in the competition has (darlingness) and figuring out how best to show that off. Nonetheless, it's very unlikely John Sergeant will win the competition when there are lither and younger and fitter and bendier and quicker dancers to pick from. That's mostly because people, as in judges, keep mistaking it for a dancing competition, which it isn't really. It's a learning-to-dance competition. Which mostly makes all the difference. There's no reason on earth John Sergeant and Lovely Kristina shouldn't win a learning-to-dance competition.
I love Don Warrington as well. I love his voice and his face and his eyes and his brain and his terror. He says the only things that worry him are the steps. Other than that he's fine with dancing. I'm a bit scared he might go out. Luckily there's Gary to cushion him.
