Name a TV show series in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
There's a few of these, but going for something moderately lengthy rather than your average British sitcom, Star Trek: TOS.
Name a (current) show you can't miss:
When it comes back, Mythbusters. I've already decided that, in the event of a clash between the new seasons of Mythbusters and Lost, Mythbusters wins hands down.
Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show:
Timothy Spall.
Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
David Tennant. He makes David Jason look underexposed.
Name a show you can, and do, quote from.
The majority of British sitcoms from the seventies onwards. But currently my brother and I communicate primarily in Mythbusters. It means saying 'Lard' a lot.
Name a show you like that no one else enjoys:
There's probably no such show, but you do feel quite lonely as a Nightingales fan.
Name a TV show which you've been known to sing the theme song:
I'm humming the Voyager theme tune on a daily basis, and it's hard not to sing along to Red Dwarf.
Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
I'm rubbish at recommending things lest everyone thinks they're tripe. I'll say Trap Door 'cause the episodes are only three minutes long, and I think it's quite hard to dislike it.
Name a TV series you own:
Copies of rather than rights to. Most of the series I have access to actually belong to my parents, but I do have my own DVD of Nightingales (trust my favourites all to fit on one DVD). And all of Star Trek: TOS on VHS.
What is your favourite episode of your favourite series?
My favourite series is Nightingales. I think the best episode is the Christmas one ('Silent Night') and my favourite's probably the one in which they build dry-stone walls and perform a slashy one-act play. I've forgotten what it's called. Oh yes. 'Reach for the Sky'.
A show you mean to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet:
God, most of them. Most of the things you've seen. Being Human. Peep Show. Several of those epic American series. But it's more about waiting for them to show up on the telly rather than not getting around to it.
Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
It's too late to do that with Lost now. I stopped with New Who after the Bad Wolf revelation transpired to be so much drivel. I stopped watching The West Wing after the first series 'cause I just wasn't very interested. Ditto Firefly. I've watched single episodes of countless things and had quite enough of them.
Name a show you aren't interested in watching, not in the least:
Heroes
Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
I haven't cried since April last year when one of my cats died. A TV programme ain't going to do it. If you'll settle for 'moved me profoundly', anything narrated by David Attenborough, elements of Star Trek: TNG (obviously not when Riker's on screen) and the end of Blackadder Goes Forth. But most of my programmes are too funny.
Oldest TV show you like?
The Phil Silvers Show.
Newest TV show you like?
Mythbusters is ongoing, so probably that.
What do you eat when you watch TV?
TV's a thing that happens throughout the day and generally when I'm doing other things, so it's not exactly an event for which I have to gather supplies. If a meal coincides with a programme, that.
How often do you watch TV?
Quite a lot - it's on most of the evening. The reason I don't actually get through a lot of programmes is that I tend to leave it on the news or repeats of things I've already seen. Which is mostly what's on.
Do you have a favorite talk show?
No.
What's the last TV show you watched?
I'm half watching an episode of Star Trek: Voyager right now, and I half-watched an episode of Jeeves and Wooster this morning.
What's your favourite/preferred genre of TV?
Comedy.
What's your least favourite genre of TV?
I'm not much into reality TV.
What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Knightmare.
What TV show do you wish you never watched?
None of them really. I sort of regret getting into Lost only to be massively let down in season 5, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it at the time, and I still enjoy being clued up on a current drama. Which is rare.
What's the weirdest show you enjoyed?
I think the Three Men in a Boat programmes have a strange and unlikely format, but I quite enjoy those.
What TV show scared you the most?
The Moomins, and every cartoon that ever came out of Canada.
What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
I think I laugh more at Father Ted than anything else.
Which do you think is the best TV series ever made?
I have to stand up for sitcoms here. I'm still fondest of Nightingales, but Hancock('s Half Hour) and Steptoe and Son were probably the bigger achievements. Outside the world of sitcom, the first two series of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and Life on Earth.
