I went out today, shunning public transport and went for a bit of a walk because I was feeling sort of cooped up. It was chilly and blue and quite pleasant. And on the way home, I met a flasher. Well, more a sort of a waver really. He crossed the road, stood in the pavement (quite undone) and sort of...waved, and nodded and made a bold suggestion that I politely declined in the middle of a hearty laugh. Is it meant to be funny? It's about 15 years since I've encountered one. I can't remember. I laughed. I hope it proved deflating. I managed not to say 'This is a good area, this'. Which it was rather. I wish I'd said it now. Never mind. Anyway, that was novel.

What was I going to say? Oh yes. I watched 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet' yesterday, an episode from the first season. I do love it lots. And Helmut loves Neville without a doubt. I didn't notice it before, but I can see it now as clear as day. There's a scene in the second episode that's the best example of its kind: Neville and Helmut's father trying to communicate without a shared language. What they manage to communicate is the fact that Neville's grandfather was sunk by a German battleship in WW2, at which the old man says 'Good!' (but in German) - nothing to do with the subject matter but the joy at having understood what was being said. It's a brilliant scene. You should watch it.

And now it is time for tea.

I am still risking spoilers by looking (admittedly with only one eye) for Lost fanfic. I really have to stop this. It's their own fault for setting up questions and then going away for several months. I get bored.

I had scrambled eggs for tea. I thought maybe I should mention it.
